come a long way by means of anxiety

Too much thinking about anything these days and it's not as interesting as it should be. I don't know; there's really so little for me to do these days and it's almost as if--________. Something smart would be there had I been concentrating on whatever was going through my brain.

Been watching some of that Apocalypse Now in literature class because we finished reading and taking a test on Heart of Darkness (which I hardy understood until the ending). The movie has made more sense having read about Marlowe and Kurtz. Yes. Uh, just a strange day with a super-hearing & giant footed & telepathically connected teacher.

Damn the concern for higher education.

Life after high school, fucking dead like dinosaurs.

Happy New Year & Chicago!

Hello 2007.

Partied up with some of my penguino friends. Continuing with stuff, I have decided to put up some of the better pictures from my great adventure in the place in America dubbed "The Windy City" (Indeed it was windy even though the temperature was moderate).

The City

Lake Shore Drive

???

From the hancock observatory at nighttime. I notice the bluriness and that was something I couldn't really control on my camera.

Museums and Other Places

OMFGs--cute at the MoS&I.

Was a real living baby at one time? more MoS&I.

Giant spiders feast on grubs at the Field.

Penguins at the shedd. The rockhoppers=funny jumpers.

Where Laura went: Museum of Science and Industry, The Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and Shedd Aquarium. Oh the memories and antique scents.

Food

Went here quite a few times back in the cicero days.

The polish from Lucky Dog (see above). I used to get it plain, but for this occasion it's got everything on it. It tasted different from what I remembered.

Gino's East pizza. This deep dish takes a frickin' long time to bake. There was graffiti and other writings on the walls and seats and under the table. Some pictures exist somewhere.

Other food places: Al's Italian Beef place and some buffet at this casino (the crab legs!). Most other places were in museums or food gained from groceries. The fair share, have thou changed so much?

Ending the Journey

One of the cousins. We planned to party, but cramps ensued. I watched some Hayao Miyazaki instead.

The plane on the way back west (to Las Vegas, actually) showed Little Miss Sunshine again. Multiple little screens show the part in the film where the family is shacking up in some motel for the night.

I had a lot more relatives (even a baby niece) that I don't have pictures of here. Uh, that's mostly because..my camera sucks and there's some pics on the family camera that has yet to be uploaded. Um. Yes. etc.

....the end of my year was fun. I also watched some kid show I had heard of, but didn't really know much about. Here it be: The Wonder Pets

This show...so adorable. Really.

It's Christmastime. Fo' reals.

Finally, the day of presents and family gatherings and other such occurences. Anywaym, I'm not really doing all that stuff because I went on a plane and am now here in Chicago. Oh my, lemme tell y'all about the ride. There was an in-flight movie. They planned to show us Pirates of theCaribbean II and, initially, it was playing with Keira Knightley and that Orlando Bloom about to be getting married when the british bad guys appeared saying they're all arrested and stuff with some deal about Jack Sparrow. Then--crackle, shizzy--they can't play Pirates II no mo'.

OK, OK. Them peoples gonna show us The Da Vinci Code, but then they figured the film would be too long for the flight. ...Dang, what we gon' watch now? Revelation--they decide to show (oh, man...are you ready? you better be ready, ohh man. some good stuff 'bout to come up here--) Little Miss Sunshine!! I was really dying to see that movie (uh, some super good reviews and Steve Carell, oooohhhmmmm.) It was totally great; the funny, the real-life-like drama, the heroin snorting, the proust, the nietzsche, the car problems, and the pageant. Things we can all relate to.

I finally understand that whole nietzsche deal and the exterme reversal-like way it was portrayed. What really freaked me out the most was theLittle Miss Sunshine beauty pageant because those little girls were overloaded with make up and hair products. It was scary. Olive was super cute. The Rick James Dance! oh. oh, those were some nice times. I was surprised to hear Sufjan Stevens in the movie. Chicago played in the background while the family started their trip to California. I vaguely remember some blog a long while back maybe mentioning that...about the LIttle Miss Sunshine and the Sufjan. Hm, Hm.

Other new chicago news: Went to my old house. It was so weird to see some Christmas lights and other decorations on the place I used to live. Really strange. Um. Yeah. The expressway was all backwards..exiting from the left lane? I didn't remember that.

spreading pre-Christmas cheer

DIck in a box. It's what everyone wants.
You know it. Spent the majority of my fourth period class trying to watch this thing and my friend got quite frustrated. It's a good chunk of funny.

don't be an ERACIST

"I need an eraser."
"Here you go."
"I don't want a green eraser, I want a white eraser."
"What? This works just fine."
"No, give me a white eraser."
"Fine. Here."
"Finally. Thanks."
"Hey."
"Yeah?"
"You know what that makes you?"
"What?"
"An eracist."

Haha. That's supposed to teach a lesson. I don't know. It started when someone started talking about jimmies (chocolate sprinkles) and cannibals. Yeah. It was a good deviation from the regular note-taking and lecturing. Did he fake it? Indeed.

Back to school tonite to watch me some good Hamlet. "To be or not to be that is the question whether 'tis nobler..--to sleep to die..ay that's the rub..quietus....with a bare bodkin? soft you now, orisons Ophelia. Nymph, sins remembered." I don't know. That's what I mostly remeber from the great soliloquy. I've seen about....5 versions? Yeah. I made a funny little version sheet that's all, interesting with the five different actors playing Hamlet are saying parts of the "to be or not to be" speech, trying to demonstrate who's better. Looking forward to seeing Mel Gibson cry as he confronts skulls.

sodomy, sausage, salami ... it's all the same.

I think today was mostly very bad. People were annoyingly...eh, how should I say this, judgemental? Prejudiced? Generally to that effect and I was tired. I don't like being responsible for things, man. Leave me be.

I watched some Army of Darkness last night. It was really funny. Sponteneous viewing of Family Guy too. Yeah. It was a nice break from stressing over new recommendation considerations. "Boomstick". I like that. Heh, "Shop smart, shop S-Mart(TM)". I totally have no idea if there's that little TM thing there, but--ok.

Another issue plaguing me: long overdue homesickness. Who misses the Lucky Dog and egg foo yung? Who misses a big back yard with a lonely cherry tree? Who misses trips to the museum of science and industry? Ohhh, you know it be me. I don't know, I've been thinking about life if it remained a relative constant for me. Like, the unchanging variable or controlled experiment. I'm just sick of here. Maybe I can go home soon.

Today in school let us share needles (based on an entirely true tale)

"the single and peculiar life is bound with all the strength and armour of the mind to keep itself from noyannce but much more that the spirit upon whose weal depends and rests the lives of many the cess of majesty dies not alone but like a gulf doth draw what's near it with or it is a massy wheel fixed on the summit of the highest mount for whose huge spokes ten thousand lesser things are mortised and adjoined which when it falls each small annexment petty consequence attends the boistr'ous ruin never alone did the king sigh but with a general groan."

A part of Rosencrantz that must be memorized. Next is Polonius. Ok. My week thus far has been unfunnish. One nice little snippet, perhaps, is the abundance of interesting movies on the telly (safe haven of old; a friend most true). Memorable watch of the week:

Cool Hand Luke

Curiosity lured me into flipping the channel to watch this; the only thing I knew was that Paul Newman was in it. The colorized version was on, showing the scene when there's this snake and all the chain gang guys are trying to get it and Luke gets it and the guy with the reflective-sheriff-like sunglasses shoots the snake's head off (way, way cruel in my opinion; shocking also). I think I saw about 5/7ths of the movie, but it was all good. Yeah. I would go all into detail about other subjects from the movie, but I don't really want to do that stuff.
I'll provide another nice Luke here.

(little Luke! what was up with those eggs? and that "eyes" guy shot another animal, a turtle, later on that they were gon' eat. and the warden-ish guy with the funny voice, "what we have here is a failure to communicate.")

Also view'd: Monsters Inc., Velvet Goldmine (yeah..yyyyeahhh. mmmyeahh.) ... things I've seen before and now? Oh! I had the best time playing some GTA. That is fun.
